Overview
Tallulah Falls students develop a respect for self, others and community.
Tallulah Falls School is a boarding and day school offering a comprehensive college preparatory experience where students develop a respect for self, others and community.
Our mission statement reads, "Preparing each student to thrive in life by elevating character and intellect in a challenging and diverse college preparatory environment." While Tallulah Falls School focuses on rigor in the classroom, we also place equal emphasis on character development. We challenge our students to become involved in the local community and to make a positive impact. We are teaching them the importance of not missing opportunities as success is often predicated by self-motivation.
Our program affords students the opportunity to bond with one another, form lasting friendships and gain an appreciation of family.
Through the residential life program, students develop an understanding of the importance of time and managing it wisely. TFS students work hard, play hard, study hard, and sleep well. Students have time after school Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. for athletics, clubs and student center activities.
For our boarding students, dinner is served in Federation Hall at 6 p.m. and students return to the dormitories for study time from 7:30-9:30 p.m. each evening, Sunday-Thursday. Wireless Internet is available as an educational resource in the dormitories and Student Center. Lights out is at 10 p.m. for underclassmen and 11 p.m. for seniors. Late night privileges are granted by the dormitory counselors for students on an as-need basis for additional study. We have one dormitory for boys and one dormitory for girls. Each dormitory is staffed by degreed professional caring adults with two dormitory counselors living on each floor.
Tallulah Falls School has a significant day student population; more than 60 percent of our students are day students.
Day students at Tallulah Falls have an opportunity to be involved in a unique environment that will benefit them both academically and socially. We encourage our day students to become involved in the school’s many activities and programs. These include extra tutorial sessions, a number of clubs, athletic teams, extra-curricular trips and supervised recreation opportunities on campus.
In 1909, Tallulah Falls School was founded by Federation of Women’s Clubs - Georgia and has been supported by them for more than 100 years. The love of these ladies for their school is reflected through a first-class academic building, beautiful dormitories (dormitory rooms that are larger and nicer than most college dorm rooms), an exceptional Student Center (with billiards, table tennis tables, air hockey, foosball, movie room, video game room, and sports grill room with flat screen televisions and dance floor), a state of the art fitness center, gymnasium, student center baseball field, soccer field, theater, and best of all, the Federation Dining Hall with fabulous southern cooking (the way Grandma does it), a fresh salad bar, homemade soups, sandwich station, and homemade desserts.
Our sense of community and family sets us apart from other schools.
Our environment allows us to focus on creating a well-rounded student that is prepared for the opportunities that he or she will encounter upon graduation.
We invite you to become a part of this experience. Tallulah Falls School offers shuttle service with stops in surrounding counties to help our day student families with transportation during the week. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
