The sixth grade student of the month is Cecily Tucker of Demorest. “Cecily is self-motivated, on-task and focused on academics,” mathematics instructor Annette Shirley said. “She is also kind, well-mannered, responsible and leads by example by showing good work habits and a positive attitude.”

The seventh grade student of the month is Colton Augustine of Demorest. “Colton is a very polite young man with a positive attitude and a sunny demeanor,” English teacher Kim McClurg said. “He always greets his teachers with kind words and a smile to start the day.  In the classroom, he is an absolute leader and often takes the initiative to be the leader in a group of his peers.  He is able to lead but to still maintain the respect of his classmates while doing so.  Colton is also extremely intelligent, and both teachers and classmates enjoy his fresh ideas and the depth he brings to academic discussions within his classes.”
