#2 Tallulah Falls edges Lumpkin in defensive showcase

The #2-ranked Indians took a 1-0 road win at Lumpkin County on Tuesday behind a defensive clinic by TFS.

"The boys played really hard and moved the ball really well," says coach Jeremy Stille.

The first half was a stalemate, as neither team got any real shots on target. In the second half, the Indians scored the game's lone goal on a through ball from Austin Ball to Landon Hall. Hall slotted a left-footed shot for the game-winner.

The defense shined, as Jake Wehrstein, Laith Reynolds, Brit Shaw, and Kale Borchers held the advantage.

"The defense kept a dangerous Lumpkin team to only a couple of shots on target mostly from free kicks," adds Stille. "Midfield played solid with Jared Mullis, Tyson Hall, and Clay Kafsky all getting significant minutes and moving the ball well. Jackson Cording had great runs and crosses down the wing as well."

Kelton Reynolds notched one save and secured yet another shutout, his first this year but school-record 18th of his career. The Indians are now 3-0 to start the season.
