TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Coaches at Tallulah Falls School have named four Indian Athletes of the Week for the week of March 20-25.

Michael Weidner

VARSITY BOY

Senior Michael Weidner of Clarkesville has been named an Indian of the Week by varsity golf coach Allen Campbell. “Michael shot a school record 35 and was a low medalist vs Hebron for the win,” Campbell said.

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Sophie Burke of Chesterton, Indiana was named an Indian of the Week by varsity tennis coach Randy Morris. “Sophie is our team captain and a great leader,” Morris said. “Sophie did a great job against George Walton’s talented number one player. Her court presence was felt by our number one doubles team when they fell behind in their second set 2-5. Sophie not only concentrated on her own match, but gave constant encouragement to her teammates as they came from behind to win the set 7-5.”

Macy Murdoch

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh grader Macy Murdoch of Carnesville was selected as an Indian of the Week by track & field coach Scott Neal. “Macy won the long jump, set a class record in the 200 meters and scored 18.75 points to lead her team to a fourth place finish at the Landmark Track & Field Invite,” Neal said.  “Distinct in quickly applying new information into training and competitive situations, Macy has a knack - and a deliberate desire - to filter distractions in a quest to succeed and to influence her team.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Sixth grader Lincoln Hall of Mt. Airy was also named an Indian of the Week by coach Neal. “Lincoln set personal and sixth grade class records in the 100 meters and pole vault (tied) at the Landmark Christian  Invite,” Neal said. “Lincoln pursues every endeavor as critical to the team’s success.”
