Gragg, Shaw shine as TFS defeats No. 8 ranked Prince Avenue Christian

Aiden Gragg and Tate Shaw provided the heroics as TFS downed #8-ranked Prince Avenue Christian on the road Tuesday evening, 6-2. Gragg pitched a complete game on just 77 pitches, and Shaw had the game-winning hit in the seventh as the Indians scored five in their final at-bat to steal the win.

The game was scoreless until the home half of the fourth, as Prince Avenue Christian brought in the game's first two runs to take a 2-0 lead. Before the fifth, TFS had only one hit. Chathan Clouatre got plunked with the bases loaded to make it a 2-1 game, though no one else scored until the seventh.

David Medina led off the seventh with a base hit, and Kyler Clouatre walked. A sac bunt moved both runners up with one out, leading to Shaw's first-pitch line drive double to right, scoring both Clouatre and Medina to take the lead. Chathan Clouatre singled to move Shaw to third. The latter came home on a passed ball, and a fielder's choice got PAC its second out in exchange for a run to make it 5-2. Joel Miller capped the scoring with an RBI single to push it to 6-2.

Gragg worked around a two-out walk to polish off the win and secure a complete game.

"Gragg was outstanding, and our defense was incredible all game long," says coach Justin Pollock, whose team recorded no errors. "The offense never gave up, and at the end they came together and found a way to make it happen."

Gragg earned the win while allowing only six hits and two walks against a pair of strikeouts. Medina had two hits and two runs, while Shaw (two RBI, double), Chathan Cloautre (RBI), Miller (RBI), and Kyler Clouatre all recorded one hit apiece.

The Indians move to 11-5 overall and 6-2 in region play. Game three of the series with Prince Avenue is slated for Thursday at home.
