Cox homers, drives in five as Indians topple West Oak

The #4-ranked Indians secured a 13-3 come-from-behind win on Thursday at West Oak behind some stellar offense from Zaiden Cox.

West Oak got three runs in the first after TFS had one in the top half. That left the Indians trailing 3-1 until the third. The offense scored six runs to reclaim the lead, and they would not relinquish. Gregory Mendez got a sac fly, and another run scored on an error to tie it at 3-3. Cox then hit a bases-loaded double to plate three more.

Tallulah Falls took advantage of some errors to score one in the fourth, three in the fifth, and the final two in the sixth. Cox hit a two-run homer in the sixth to put the finishing touches on the game. He closed with a 3-for-3 game with a homerun, double, five RBI, and three runs scored as well as a walk. Wyatt Franks added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored.

Robert Grant picked up the victory by going the complete game (six innings), allowing one earned run on two hits and three walks against six strikeouts. TFS moves to 19-7 overall.
