TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for the first week of the 2018-19 year.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Emma Barrett of Clarkesville was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school girls volleyball coach Rebekah Kanipe. “Emma has demonstrated excellent communication skills with her team and coach,” said Kanipe. “She has an excellent ability to teach on the court and consistently demonstrates long-lasting positive energy.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Seungwook (Daniel) Shin of South Korea was named an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Daniel is new to TFS and to cross country,” said Neal. “This did not deter him from jumping right into our number two position and practicing with a purpose and with ferocity. Daniel invests significantly in each practice to make himself and his teammates better.”

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Pengyue (Peter) Wang was named an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Peter is a manager for the boys cross country team,” said Neal. “His initiative in instantly making the team better has been impressive. No task is too small or large for him to create excellence, support the team and influence others through his very positive outlook.”

VARSITY GIRL

Senior Mali Danavall of Jonesboro was named an Indian of the Week by varsity volleyball coach Matt Heyl. “Mali has been a force to be reckoned with in the first ten matches of the season with her dominant blocking,” said Heyl. “Watching her take down the other team’s star ignites our mentality and boosts our morale.”
