Lady Indians middle school volleyball drops hard-fought match at Habersham

The TFS middle school volleyball teams dropped matches at Habersham on Wednesday evening. The A-Team was edged in the opening set, 26-24, and dropped the second 25-18 to lose the match.

"Tough losses tonight," says coach Whittney LaHayne. "The A-Team played hard in the first set, we almost had them beat in the first, and lost all steam in the second."

The B-Team fell 25-18 in the first set of their match, and came back in a wild second set, but fell 36-34.

"It was an intense ending, matching point for point," says LaHayne on the B-Team's second set.

Many of the girls played very well despite the outcome.

"Karagan Branson hustled and went after ball after ball tonight," adds LaHayne. "We can always count on Karagan to dive after balls and hustle. She was able to save us some points in both matches tonight by diving after serves or spikes."

The teams must have a short term memory, as they return to action tomorrow, September 3, in an away tri-match against War Hill Christian and White Creek Christian.

"It was a tough loss that now puts us 2-1 in our area," states LaHayne. "I am hoping the girls pull together and start showing mental toughness. This is what hurt us tonight on the court."
