Indians fall 11-2 in series opener at Athens Christian

The TFS Indians took on state-ranked Athens Christian on the road Monday evening, suffering an 11-2 loss that saw the visitors trail 9-0 by the third inning.

The Indians tallied only two hits in the loss, scratching across a run in the fourth and another in the fifth. Tyler Popham singled home Cainan Yaskiewicz to pull it to within 9-2, which was as close as they would get.

Aiden Gragg took the loss on the mound, going two innings and allowing seven earned runs. Jeremy Medina went the final four frames and gave up four more runs.

TFS is now 13-10 overall and 7-6 in region play. The Indians will play host on Tuesday to Athens Christian for senior night, and game three of the series is slated for Thursday. That will wrap up the regular season as the Indians have already secured a state playoff spot.
