Indians of the Week: January 2-7

TFS has named the Indian of the Week for the week of January 2-7. This week's selections are Mattie Patterson and Zakhar Valasiuk for high school, and Stella Radford and Thatcher Tatum for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Mattie Patterson - Swimming

Mattie Patterson had a fantastic meet this past weekend, swimming to a PR in the 100 butterfly and assisting in the girl's 200 medley & 400 freestyle relays to two first-place finishes. Mattie works to improve at every practice, seeking clarification & understanding to help make each race the best that it can be. Mattie's determination & focus on the sport is inspiring to her teammates. -coach Rachel Butler

Zakhar Valasiuk - Basketball

Zakhar Valasiuk had an excellent performance in the win over Lake Oconee Academy last Tuesday. During the game, Zakhar shot 100% from the floor and also went 100% from the FT line, totaling 11 points. He also contributed 6 rebounds during the game. -coach Cody Coleman

Stella Radford - Swimming

Stella dropped time in all 3 of her individual events this past weekend, dropping almost 7 seconds across all three of her races. Stella works in practice to improve her endurance & always seeks out feedback from coaches in her quest to improve. -coach Rachel Butler

Thatcher Tatum - Swimming

Thatcher swam to two personal best times in his individual events this weekend while also placing in the top 5 in every one of his events, individual & relays. Thatcher works to increase his explosiveness & efficiency in practice to have great improvement in his swims. -coach Rachel Butler
