Indians earn first-ever #1 state ranking

The Tallulah Falls Indians have been ranked #1 in the state poll, published on Thursday by the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC).

TFS has been ranked as high as #2 in the Scorbord.com state poll, and also #1 in the current Score Atlanta poll.

The Indians are 8-0 overall and 4-0 in region play, with seven straight clean sheet victories prior to their last out, a 2-1 comeback win over Rabun County.

This season has featured plenty of records thusfar for the Indians. Junior captain Austin Ball has 21 goals, just a few shy of Max Farris' 24-goal season in 2021 as the school record. Ball's goal last match made him the all-time goals leader with 34. He's also atop the all-time assists board with 29 and counting. Ball has a 5-goal game this season against Athens Christian, which tied Farris' single-match record (achieved twice). Senior captain Simeon Conjagic had a school record 6 assists in that same match, and he is 4 assists shy of matching Farris' single-season record of 14.

Senior captain Jake Hall has been stellar, posting 15 goals and 9 assists. Meanwhile, the entire defense has been as good as any in the state, holding opponents to a single goal across 8 matches. Sophomore goalkeeper Kelton Reynolds has a school record 11 career shutouts, and 31 saves so far this season.

The team's 8-match win streak that is still alive represents a school record, and the overall scoring for TFS stands at 61-1.
