Next Level Indians: Spring Sports Athletes

 
 

Former Tallulah Falls School athletes continue to impress long after they finish at the prep level. This spring, several saw significant game action at the college level. FULL LIST OF NEXT LEVEL INDIANS

NORMAN BASTIAN ('22) - OLIVET NAZARINE UNIVERSITY BASEBALL

Bastian appeared in one game during his freshman season, recording one at-bat overall, and one putout as well.

MALIQUE CHARLTON ('22) - MIDWAY UNIVERSITY BASEBALL

Charlton was on the JV squad for Midway University this spring, as he works toward being on the varsity level in the future.

CHATHAN CLOUATRE ('21) - TOCCOA FALLS COLLEGE BASEBALL

In his sophomore season, Clouatre played in 39 games and hit .372 overall. He was 51-for-137, and had 4 homeruns and 30 RBI with 11 doubles, a triple, and a team-high 49 runs scored. He had a .457 OBP and stole 9 bases as well, and had a .933 fielding percentage.

KATY CORBETT ('21) - MERCER UNIVERSITY BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Corbett, a sophomore, has been featured on ESPN in matches against some of the top competition in the country. Overall, she won 13 matches throughout the season, including against #19-ranked Tulane, and wins over Jacksonville State University (3x), Jacksonville University, Berry College, Erskine College, Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Saint Leo, UNC Wilmington, Coastal Carolina, and Southern Mississippi.

ANNA DAVIS ('18) - NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY TRACK & FIELD

Formerly at Davidson College, where she set numerous school records, Davis used her last year of eligibility at Northeastern University. There, the graduate senior set several PRs since arriving, including these indoor events: 60 meter hurdles (8.89), 500 meter dash (1:15.06), 400 meter dash (56.48), 200 meter dash (25.59), and 60 meter dash (8.16). Her PRs outdoor include 1:00.34 in the 400 meter hurdles, 14.47 in the 100 meter hurdles, 57.08 in the 400 meter dash, and 25.63 in the 200 meter dash. At the NEICAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she was runner-up in the 400 meter hurdles, and took first place in two events this season.

BRINSON HALL ('21) - TROY UNIVERSITY GOLF

Hall took on her sophomore season at Troy, playing in six total rounds and two tournaments. Her low round score was a 73, and her career stroke average sits at 82.4, though this season she's averaged a 79.2

AUBREY HIGGINS ('22) - BERRY COLLEGE BASEBALL

Higgins got top pitch 15.1 innings in his freshman year, and carried a 10.57 ERA with 6 strikeouts. He helped secure a win against Covenant College and LaGrange College during the season. His best outing was his final one this season and came against Birmingham Southern. He pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, using just 5 pitches to get through that.

MAGGIE JACKSON ('21) - WOFFORD COLLEGE GOLF

Jackson has excelled as a sophomore at Wofford. This season saw her play in 29 total rounds with a stroke average of 78.55. Her low round was a 70, coming in the Edisto Island Invitational last fall. She finished 4-over par to come in 9th in that tournament, and also had a 3rd-place finish out of 73 total golfers in the Grandover Fall Classic back in September 2022. This season saw Jackson post her first two college career top-10 finishes, and 3 top-20 finishes. She was 18th at the SoCon Championship after finishing 19-over 235 across the 3-day tournament.

GEORGE KETCH ('22) - BERRY COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD

Ketch as a freshman has had some big moments, including a 4th-place finish in the Hammer Throw at the SAA Conference Championships, where he recorded a PR of 135-7. He has competed in discus, shot put, hammer throw, and javelin (finishing 17th at the Conference Championships with a PR of 106-2). Through his first season, he's had six top-20 finishes in multiple events.

DAVID MEDINA ('22) - MID-ATLANTIC CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY BASEBALL

Medina got his feet wet by playing in a couple of games during his freshman season. He was 0-for-1 at the plate, but scored a run and was hit by a pitch to reach base twice. He scored a run against Ohio Christian University.

JOEL MILLER ('22) - BREWTON-PARKER COLLEGE BASEBALL

Miller did not appear in a game for Brewton-Parker College this season.

MACY MURDOCK ('22) - BERRY COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD

Murdock had a stellar first season at Berry. She had a PR in the SAA Conference Championships in the 400 meter dash with a 1:00.25 to finish runner-up. She was also runner-up at the Conference Championships in the 400 meter hurdles and 6th in the 100 meter hurdles. She participated in indoor events as well, including in the 400 meter dash, 55 meter hurdles, 60 meter hurdles, and high jump. This season she had 10 top-20 finishes, 9 top-5 finishes, and was 1st in the 400 meter hurdles at the Centre Invitational in April. Murdock was chosedn as an All-Region member by the US Track and Field & XC Coaches Association for both the 400 meter hurdles and in the Heptathlon. Murdock was also 1st Team All-SAA (Southern Athletic Association), and was part of the conference championship 4x400 relay group.

EVAN PRINCE ('22) - U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY TRACK & FIELD

During his first season in cross country and track and field at Navy, Prince has done very well. He finished inside the top-15 six times this spring in his events, inculding coming in the top-10 four times. He finished 8th in the mile (4:17.58) at the Patriot Games 2023, 8th in th emile at Navy Select, and 8th in the Navy Spring Invitational II in the 1500.

SIMEON RESPRESS ('21) - ANDERSON UNIVERSITY TRACK & FIELD

Respress competed well throughout his sophomore season at Anderson. He had a 1.86 meter distance in the high jump at the SAC Conference Championships, and was part of the 7th-place finish in the 4x100 relay team. He also came in 8th in the long jump with a 7.09 meter distance. Respress has multiple top-10 finishes this season in high jump and long jump.

ALBA ROMANOS GRACIA ('22) - VENTURA COLLEGE BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Romanos competed in indoor and beach volleyball in her freshman season. She won 17 matches (17-7 overall), 13 of which came at #4 duals. She had a win at #3 as well, and 3 wins at #5. Ventura College was the CCCAA Beach Volleyball State Runner-Up and went 22-3-1 overall.
