MS basketball teams drop road games at Towns

 
 

Both the Lady Indians and Indians MS basketball teams traveled to Towns County for key Tri-State Conference games on Wednesday. Both teams nearly came away with wins.

The Lady Indians lost 27-25, and had a chance at a last-second shot to tie the game. TFS trailed 9-8 after the first, and were knotted at 11 at the break. Payton McEntire led with 13 points, as Nora Mitchell dropped in eight. Linda White added three and Mia Kerr one.

"Best team game thus far," says coach Jenny Long. "We're making strides."

Meanwhile, the boys lost a 35-28 final. Both Asa Popham and Brantley Addison recorded eight points each, and Ethan Phasavang chipped in with four points.

"We'll look to bounce back tomorrow at Stephens County," says coach Nathan Stanley. "Proud of our guys for their hard work out there. We are getting better and have to continue to grow and trust the process."

The Indians move to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in Tri-State play. The Lady Indians are 1-3 and 0-2, respectively.
