Indians of the Week: January 22-27

 
 

TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of January 22-27. This week's selection are Brianna Walter and Judah McIntosh for high school, and Catherine Harris and Micah Smith for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

BRIANNA WALTER - PRECISION RIFLE

Brianna Walter has again shown her dominance in this sport by shooting over a Junior Olympic National Championship “automatic-in” score of 580 by 9 points this weekend in 60 Shot Standing at a State qualifying event held at the Georgia Military College. We are so proud of her dedication and focus! The National Junior Olympic Rifle Championships are held the first of April at the National Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for those who will be under 21 at the last day of this year. It will include Olympic team members and NCAA’s best shooters. We will know if other members of this team have the prestigious honor of an invitation by the end of February. -coach Katie Keister & Tim Stamey

JUDAH MCINTOSH - BASKETBALL 

Judah McIntosh had an excellent performance vs. Elbert last week. McIntosh scored 20 points including four 3's in the region win. -coach Cody Coleman

Catherine Harris - Swimming

Catherine Harris finished out her middle school swim career on a high note. She swam two personal best times at the GIAA MS state meet on Saturday. She dropped over one second in the 100 individual medley placing 12th and later dropped almost four seconds in the 50 breaststroke earning her16th place of 59 swimmers. She also helped lead her relay to a ninth place finish. Catherine is a hard worker in and out of the pool. She has a great attitude and is fun to coach. -coach Tamara Griffis

Micah Smith - Swimming

Micah Smith just completed his second year with the middle school swim team. Micah had a wildly successful meet at the GIAA MS state meet this past Saturday. He dropped over two seconds in the 50 freestyle. He swam another second faster than his previous best in the 50 backstroke earning 12th place of 84 swimmers. In addition, he dropped a.massive seven seconds in the 100 free to earn him 11th place in that event. Micah is a great teammate and has a positive attitude all the time. -coach Tamara Griffis
