Indians grab first win, girls stay perfect in wins over Jefferson

The TFS tennis teams swept past a solid program in Jefferson at home on Tuesday evening, with the Indians grabbing their first victory of the season and the girls remaining unbeaten. The Lady Indians won 5-0 while the Indians secured a 4-1 win.

"It was great night for TFS tennis," says coach Anthony Cox. "The girls rolled once again against a tough Jefferson team. The scores don’t indicate how much we battled out there. We changed the order of play and 1D were the last matches playing. All were watching and cheering as Ava and Charlotte held on in a third-set tiebreak to get the sweep."

The Lady Indians move to 5-0 on the season.

"I am so happy for the boys to finally get in the win column," adds Cox. "We have really had a very difficult schedule thus far, especially for the boys, but they keep moving forward and staying focused on the goal despite some discouragement from the results. We tweaked the lineup a bit, and Jake and Zachary played well and Glad and Fabian in their first match together secured our first 2D victory of the season. Tanner and TJ were absolutely masterful in their victories. Both the boys and girls teams are growing a little bit each day, and hopefully, by the end of the season, we’ll be playing our best tennis."

The Indians are now 1-4 overall.
