TFS eighth grade students ‘play school’

It was structured play time at the Tallulah Falls School middle school on May 12.

In the eighth grade elective Kids R Kids, students learn about the social, cognitive,  physical and emotional development of children from infant to kindergarten.

As a way to put learning into practice, students hosted a play school experience for community children ages 3-5. Students set up centers for the special visitors, including word games, story time, bubble play, fishing for prizes and arts and crafts.

According to the class description, toys, games, crafts, food/nutrition, communication and children’s safety for each age group are explored during the elective class. Children’s literature is also a focus so students can learn how to choose age- and developmentally-appropriate books for children.
