MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Bailey Aderholt of Eastanollee was named an Indian of the Week by middle school volleyball coach Tamara Griffis. “Bailey played three great matches in the Georgia Middle School tournament on Saturday,” Griffis said. “She led us to a runner-up spot and helped the team secure a place in the next round. She finished with 22 kills and 11 blocks. Everyone on the court can feel her spirit and enthusiasm.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Tyler Popham of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school tennis coach Lisa Wilcox.  “Tyler finished his season undefeated winning all seven matches he competed in,” Wilcox said. “Whether playing singles or doubles, he has come out on top. He tries hard and really loves the game. He has a great attitude toward his teammates and is a great encourager to the entire team.” 

VARSITY GIRL

Senior Shanna Lewallen of Cornelia was named a varsity Indian of the Week. “Shanna is a young lady who consistently works hard in practice and capitalizes on the variables she is able to control,” said varsity volleyball head coach Brandy Corbett. “She does this both on and off the court. She is a great student, with tremendous character, and contributes positively to her team, classmates and the entire school community.”

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Samuel Dunlap was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity soccer coach Jonathan Roberts. “Samuel put the ‘net’ on his shoulders at the beginning of the season,” Roberts said. “He told the coaches he wanted to be dedicated and committed to goalkeeping for the remainder of his TFS soccer career. He has done an outstanding job in one of the most challenging positions on the field. Samuel is devoted to understanding and training for the position and takes his role as ‘senior’ goalkeeper seriously. He is a team leader in focus and devotion to the sport.”
