TFS coaches name Indians of the Week for Jan. 1-6

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for January 1-6.

 Middle School Girl

Eighth-grader Brinna Docsol of Toccoa was named an Indian of the Week by middle school cheering coach Jane Shoemaker. “Brinna is always positive and helpful to the other girls,” Shoemaker said. “She works hard and puts her best foot forward every day whether in practice or at games.”

Middle School Boy

Seventh-grader Mason Dawe of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school boys basketball ‘B’ squad coach Scott Neal. “Mason is the team captain and our point guard,” Neal said. “He leads by example and by communicating effectively in addition to continual hustle, court presence and influential encouragement.”

Varsity Girl

Junior Damali Danavall was named an Indian of the Week by varsity girls basketball coach Tom Tilley.  “In addition to being our team captain, Mali also demonstrates outstanding leadership and persistent intensity,” Tilley said. “She netted 13 points and 18 rebounds in a win vs. Johnson High School, a much larger AAAAA opponent. The 18 rebounds tied for third all-time in a single game for a TFS player.”

Varsity Boy

Sophomore Matthew Weidner of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity boys basketball coach Jim Van Hooser. “Matthew averaged a team-high 17.5 points per game and seven rebounds in our two games last week,” Van Hooser said. “He has been a consistently positive force all season. He leads by example and with his work ethic and commitment to being GREAT in all that he does.”
