TFS varsity boys basketball heading to state competition

The Tallulah Falls Boys Basketball team is slated to return to the Georgia High School Association State Tournament for the second consecutive season.

According to head coach James Van Hooser, this marks only the fourth time in school history the Indians have qualified to play at the state-level.

The team followed last year's state sweet 16 and 24-5 record with a solid 14-11 campaign led by All-Region First Team player senior Tahj Moss and All-Region Honorable Mention sophomore Matthew Weidner.

The two All-Region players combined for 33 points per game and 16 rebounds per game to lead the Indians back to the state tournament.

“The emergence of sophomores Hayden Johnson (10.6 points per game), sophomore Reeves Cody (3.1 steals per game) and junior point guard Jake Carver (4.2 assists per game) have the TFS boys playing their best basketball of the season entering the state tournament,” Van Hooser said.

TFS will play Walker High School in Marietta at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16.
