TFS names Indians of the Month for March

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the month for March.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Macy Murdock of Carnesville was named a TFS Indian of the Month for March by middle school track and field coach Scott Neal. “Macy recently broke the middle school girls 400-meter record and ran the fastest leg on the school record-setting 4 x 400 relay team,” said Neal. “She is the leading middle school scorer helping TFS to victories at Banks County, Landmark Christian, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and Rabun County. She has numerous wins in the 200-meter, 400-meter, long jump and both relays. Macy is a positive teammate who strives to excel.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader Nelson Wilkinson of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Month by middle school track and field coach Scott Neal. “Nelson is a versatile athlete whose track and field range is expanding,” said Neal. “He throws the shot put and discus as well as runs the long sprints, is on the ‘A’ relay team and competes in the high jump. He is the team’s high point scorer for March and has placed in at least one event in all five meets. Nelson’s energy in practice and at meets is contagious. He clearly understands the value of both competition and being a positive teammate and demonstrates that balance daily.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Sydney Spivey of Demorest was named an Indian of the Month by varsity track and field coach Scott Neal. “In March Sydney set multiple personal records, especially in the 100-meter hurdles where she is presently ranked sixth in Region 8-A and eighth in Class A-Private,” said Neal. “She is also ranked seventh in the region in the 300-meter hurdles. Sydney leads off the region’s sixth-ranked 4 x 100 relay team and led off the third-ranked 4 x 400 relay team. She placed third in the short hurdles at the Battle at the Branch Invite. A tremendous teammate, Sydney both reflects and adds to the GREAT culture of the track and field program.”

VARSITY BOY

Junior Caleb Griffis of Martin was selected as an Indian of the Month by varsity track and field coach Scott Neal.  “Caleb set multiple personal records in March in the shot put and discuss in addition to running the 400 meter, the ‘A’ team 4 x 400 and the 4 x 100 relay,” said Neal. “He is quickly progressing in the throws while presently ranked No. 14 in the discus and No. 15 in the shot put in Region 8-A. Caleb brings an energetic attitude and is always willing to do whatever the team needs.”
