A student art contest generated multiple submissions for the chance to be featured on the 2018 Twin Rivers Challenge t-shirt.

The Twin Rivers Challenge cycling event is a fundraiser for student scholarships and is set for Oct. 27 at Tallulah Falls School.

Tallulah Falls School senior Maria Chiuz Escobar of Honduras produced the winning artwork, using watercolors to depict the scenic beauty of Northeast Georgia, adding other elements and lettering to illustrate the ride details.

“We are thrilled to feature student artwork on the front of the Twin Rivers Challenge t-shirts for the first time this year,” said Executive Director for Advancement Sonya Smith. “Choosing a single winner was a difficult task with so many outstanding entries by our talented middle and upper school art students. Showcasing our students’ creativity is the perfect way to remind the community of the reason for the event.”

Eighth graders Maddie Mullis and Gavin Atkinson, both of Sautee Nacoochee placed second and third, respectively.

The back of the shirt also features the event sponsors, including presenting sponsor Ron Cantrell Construction, Inc. of Cleveland and meal sponsor Springer Mountain Farms.
