TFS announces 2019 STAR Student and Teacher
The months leading up to graduation for the Tallulah Falls School Class of 2019 are few and the accomplishments are many.
One of the most anticipated highlights during the academic year is the announcement of the STAR Student and Teacher.
Xing Fan of the People’s Republic of China earned the highest score on the SAT test for this year’s class.
Fan selected upper school math teacher James Van Hooser as the STAR Teacher.
The Rotary Club of Habersham County hosted the county’s STAR Students and Teachers on Feb. 7. Fan was announced as the system winner at the luncheon. He will now represent TFS and Habersham County at the regional STAR event in March at the University of North Georgia.
The Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development, according to the PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators) Foundation.
