Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for Jan. 28 - Feb. 2.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Ellie Southards of Dillard was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school girls coach Sharae Long. “Ellie scored 21 points in the semi-final Tri-State Conference game against Rabun Gap and was five-for-six from the free-throw line,” Long said. “In the championship game, she led the team with nine points against a tough Summit Charter team. Finishing our season she scored a total of 226 points, averaging 14 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Ellie gives 110% every day, whether in practice or in a game. She has a passion for the game and a tremendous desire to improve.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Colton Hicks of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by middle school boys basketball coach Tom Tilley. “Colton had a big week of basketball,” Tilley said. “His rebounding ability, work ethic, defense and ability to attack the basket was instrumental in the team’s championship run. This past Saturday in the Tri-State Conference title game he had 10 points and 10 rebounds.”

VARSITY GIRL

Freshman Macy Murdock of Carnesville was named an Indian of the Week by varsity girls basketball coach Brandy Corbett. “Macy continues to grow weekly in her assertiveness on the court,” Corbett said. “After three of our players fouled out against Towns County, Macy came in and did an exceptional job of helping break the press. In our last two games, Macy was also given challenging defensive assignments which she handled very well. Her athleticism, coach-ability and work ethic make her a player to watch in the next few years.”

VARSITY BOY

Freshman Kristian Williams of the Bahamas was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity baseball coach Mark Wilcox. “Kristian has been working hard all year in baseball participating in all of his scheduled individual workouts as well as showing up often on his own during the off-season to practice,” Wilcox said. “Since team practice has started he continues to show up whenever he can to work at baseball when his swim schedule allows. He has also done well in swimming this year and has qualified for the state meet in the 200-relay and 200-medley relay.”
