TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

 
 

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Sept. 9-14.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Josie Chesser of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Josie was the runner-up at the recent Summit Charter meet and placed eighth out of more than 60 runners,” Neal said. “She also helped the middle school girls place third of nine schools at the 15th Annual Cookies ‘n Quotes Cross Country Festival. Josie is beginning to find her own running pace, utilizing a good stride along with a renewed determination to see just how good she can be.” 

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Blaire Moore of Demorest was named an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Blair is a naturally strong 400-meter racer who runs cross country to strengthen his endurance,” Neal said. “He demonstrates consistency in training, seeks to lead by example, strives daily to do his best, runs with a quiet passion, and is always positive in his outlook. Blair recently placed in the top 25 percent at the 15th Annual Cookies ‘n Quotes Cross Country Festival.” 


VARSITY GIRL

Senior Sarah Edwards of Sautee Nacoochee was named and Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Senior team leader Sarah Edwards continued her significant leadership legacy by coordinating the baking of more than 1,800 baked cookies and inspirational quotes given in a decorated bag to every participant, manager and coach at the 15th Annual Cookies ‘n Quotes Cross Country Festival,” Neal said. “Sarah’s creativity, dedication to hosting GREAT events that significantly impact other and ability to coordinate so many moving parts highlighted TFS as a unique host. She created a new tradition for the winning team to receive a large cookie cake with an inspirational quote written in calligraphy.” 

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Evan Prince of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Evan was the runner-up at the 15th Annual Cookies ‘n Quotes Cross Country Festival as he ran the deceptively hilly TFS 5K trail in 17:26.73 to jump to the No. 4 position of the course Legacy List, only 41 seconds behind course record holder state champion Graham Blanks of Athens Academy,” Neal said. “Evan has placed in the top five in each meet so far. His consistency, ownership of all things cross country, disciplined work ethic, peer encouragement and gutsy racing have earned much respect among his team and peers. Evan pursues excellence in everything he does with a GREAT attitude.”
