The fifth-grade student of the month is Elijah Hornsby of Cornelia. “Elijah has a strong work ethic in class,” said Chrissy Van Hooser, fifth-grade math teacher. “He is kind to all his classmates and teachers and always willing to help. Elijah has a very positive attitude and always has a smile on his face.”

The sixth-grade student of the month is Keira Webb of Clarkesville. “Keira is self-motivated, hard-working and polite,” said sixth-grade math teacher Annette Shirley. She is always on-task and focused on academics. Keira is a team player when working with her peers and teachers.”

The seventh-grader of the month for November is Allison Bailey of Lula. “Allison is driven, motivated, enthusiastic and her attention to detail in every assignment is incredible,” said seventh-grade English teacher Kim McClurg. “She always strives to give her very best and her high grades are an indicator of her success. Most importantly, however, is the encouragement she gives to her classmates and teachers. She is a leader by example who is also kind, compassionate and has a genuine love for others.”

Two eighth grade students received student of the month recognition  – Austin Ball of Tiger and Lily Cai of Cleveland. “Austin is a positive role model and has extensive leadership skills,” said eighth-grade math teacher Sonya Chesser. “He does a great job at building community and including his peers in daily activities.
