Esports wraps up Fall season

The 2020 Esports fall season came to an end last week for all of the TFS teams.

"The fall season was successful despite many obstacles and changes due to the pandemic," says coach Casey Barron. "I am very proud of everyone and the way the teams came together, supported each other, and filled in for their fellow teammates when needed."

The TFS Mushrooms finished ranked 16th in the state for League of Legends. This team made the state playoffs for the second straight year. The Mushrooms first-round match was against the #1-ranked team in the state.

"Despite having three of the top players on our team out of the country, the TFS Mushrooms had a great year and are looking forward to the spring season, and hoping everyone is back on campus," adds Barron. "Both of our Rocket League teams had a successful year but missed the playoffs by just a few rankings."

The Farming Simulator team (Rocket League) finished their state fall season with a 4-4 record. The Tallulah Falls Indians Rocket League team finished the regional fall season with a 3-5 record.

"Both of these teams faced some extremely talented teams and played very well," says Barron. "They both had several matches that came down to just a little mistake or a single point that cost them the match. Through this, they all improved their game and had a great time doing it. I am looking forward to the spring season for both of these teams. The TFS Indians were all freshmen this fall and now have experience in competitive gaming. The Farming Simulator is a team of determined seniors that want to go out on a winning note in their final high school Esports season. I want to thank all of the players for their commitment and character they displayed in this very difficult time and rose to the challenge and had a successful fall season. Thank you to the faculty and administrators for the support and encouragement to our team. Also, thank you to Josh Brady for being a coach and mentor to the players and for helping me keep all of the teams organized and competing."
