TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Jan. 13-18.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Sixth-grader Kaylin Pickett was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school girls basketball coach Sharea Long. “Kaylin has been working hard to improve her skills,” Long said. “She is knowledgeable in the classroom and on the court. This week in our game against Nantahala, Kaylin scored her first basket of the season. Kaylin is a first-year player but picks up the game very quickly. She is fast, smart, has a great attitude and is an amazing encourager to her teammates.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader, Jedd Thomas of Cleveland, was named an Indian of the Week by middle school swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Jedd consistently arrives at practice prepared with a positive attitude,” Nichols said. “He had dropped an impressive four seconds in his 50-yard breaststroke and three seconds in his 50-yard freestyle this season. Jedd continued to improve with his performance at the Ahoy Me Hearties meet. He swam a personal best time in the 100-yard breaststroke at the meet.”

VARSITY GIRL

Senior Reid Kafsky of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Reid is dedicated to her team and arrives at practice prepared and determined to work hard through a difficult set,” Nichols said. “Reid does a phenomenal job as team captain by leading team bonding activities and ensuring her teammates feel encouraged. Her efforts reflected at the meet this past weekend when she earned an individual state-qualifying time in the 50-yard freestyle at the Clarke-Oconee Invitational.”

VARSITY BOY

Senior Caden Griffis of Tallulah Falls was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Caden consistently strives to improve his stroke technique and improve his times in his individual swims,” Nichols said. “This was demonstrated this past weekend at the Clarke-Oconee Invitational when he dropped two seconds in his 100-yard butterfly event.”
