MS boys, girls claim wins over Stephens County

 
 

The Tallulah Falls School MS basketball teams played host to Stephens County on Saturday, with both teams coming up with victories.

GIRLS

The Lady Indians slid past visiting Stephens County, 28-20 to remain undefeated in 2020-21. For TFS, the girls made it a 10th straight win. The girls trailed 7-5 after the first, and 12-11 at the break. Breelyn Wood's seven points in the first half kept the Lady Indians in contention.

TFS only scored two points in the third, as Stephens pulled in front 18-13 going into the final quarter of play. Haygen James rallied TFS in the fourth with an eight-point quarter as part of a 15-2 run to close out the game. 

James led all scorers with 13, while Wood finished close behind with nine points. Chesney Tanksley, Lizzie Huebner and Millie Holcomb each had two points.

BOYS

The Indians cruised to a 49-28 win over Stephens County, moving to 6-2 on the season. The boys raced out to a 26-11 lead going into the break, and outscored the visitors 23-17 in the second half to close out the game.

Jackson Carlan paced the Indians with 10 points, while Tanner Davis recorded nine. KC Respress and Clay Kafsky each had six points, while Elijah Barker finished with four. Chase Pollock, Teryk Tilley and Zach Carringer had three apiece, and Wyatt Franks and Will Green both had two. Zach Freeman added a point for TFS.
