MS Indians notch scoreless draw with Stephens
BOYS
TFS MS boys soccer played to a 0-0 draw on Friday against Stephens County.
"It was a tough muddy game in some unfavorable conditions," says coach Chris Kafsky. "We had our chances and controlled most of the match, but just couldn’t put one away. It was a win that everyone stayed healthy and enjoyed some pizza, cake and smiles after the match. I am thankful for the moments and look forward to our next contest."
The Indians are now 6-1-1 on the season.
GIRLS
The Lady Indians fell 3-0, though the team saw improvement.
"Considering the first time we faced this team the score was 1-6, there was much improvement shown in this match," says coach Laura Higbie. "The field was in extremely muddy condition and was another opponent in itself."
The offense and midfield provided scoring chances and some very close shots. The defense played excellent, as Lizzy Wanner, Ryleigh Wilson, Millie Holcomb, Josie Chesser, Sarah Lundy, and GK Gemma Farris shut down threats and limited a previous 5-goal scorer to just two late goals.
"Stephens County had to work hard for their goals and I am really proud of our entire team," states Higbie. "Although the score doesn’t reflect it, this team is having fun and has really clicked. We look forward to our next match."
