Soccer All-Region honors several TFS players

Region 8-A Private released its All-Region honoree lists for both boys and girls, and TFS was well-represented.

The Indians, in the wake of their first-ever state playoff run, had Sammy Davis, Max Farris and Cainan Yaskiewicz all earn All-Region recognition. The Honorable Mention list included Austin Ball, Joe Griswold, and David Rodriguez Moreno.

Farris set the program single-season goals record with 24, and had 14 assists (single-season and career record), was a BLITZ Player of the Week twice, two-time Indian of the Week, and had 18 goals and nine assists in region play. Davis had 15 goals, seven assists, and had 13 goals and seven assists in region play. Yaskiewicz started 13 games and averaged six saves per contest, and scored a goal while also recording an assist. He had two shutouts. Griswold played in 13 games and scored a goal while anchoring the defense in one shutout. Moreno played in 13 games, scoring four goals and tallying four assists, as well as being named Indian of the Month. Ball was one of only two freshmen to receive All-Region recognition, and scored four goals and had 10 assists, including two goals and seven assists in region play. He was a BLITZ Player of the Week, Indian of the Month, and is second all-time in single season assists and already tied for sixth all-time in a career (four shy of record).

The Lady Indians, who put up a school record in wins and also played in the program's first-ever playoff game, were also represented well.

Sydney Coffey, Honora Kahwach, Grace Kim and Kat Williams were all named to the All-Region team, while Iray Adeleke, Addie Higbie and Fendi Jean-Louis were named Honorable Mentions.

All of these girls were pivotal to the success of the program, and were leaders on and off the field. Coffey was stellar on the defensive end, and scored four goals on the season. Kahwach had nine goals and often dictated the pace of play for the Lady Indians. Kim tallied a team-high 10 goals and was hard to contain. Williams had four goals, including two on corner kicks, while Higbie (four goals), Adeleke (four) and Jean-Louis (one) were also big-time playmakers for TFS.
