New club swim coach in place at TFS
A new coach is in place to lead a competitive club swim program at Tallulah Falls School. Harrison Butler will serve as head coach for the Tallulah Falls Aquatics program.
“Harrison comes to us with a strong vision for the future of competitive club swimming,” said Natatorium Director Katie Ralston. “We are so excited to have him on board as we build this program. With his energy and enthusiasm coupled with his experience swimming and coaching at the college level, he will add depth and dimension to this initiative; we look forward to seeing what the future holds for our swim community with his leadership."
While pursuing his degree from Mars Hill University, Butler was an NCAA Division II athlete, where he served as captain of the swim team. In addition, as team captain, he played a key role as a student-athlete in providing support to the coaching staff with practice plans, swim meet rosters, maximizing point scoring and optimizing talent.
He also assisted with the execution of swim meets and other large-scale events hosted by Mars Hill, where he was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and served as a delegate to the Model United Nations.
“Our team will focus on developing swimmers both in the pool with engaging and challenging practices, as well as outside of the pool through goal setting and regimented training,” Butler said. “I am thrilled to further expand competitive swimming in Northeast Georgia; I am exceedingly grateful to Tallulah Falls School for giving me this opportunity.”
President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy said adding a club swimming program provides another offering to the school’s service to the Northeast Georgia community.
“We are delighted to have Coach Butler on board to launch our club swimming program,” Peevy said. “This is another great opportunity to showcase our school and the new natatorium as we strive to use this state-of-the-art facility to its fullest potential.”
