Indians of the Month: September 2021

Tallulah Falls School has named its Indians of the Month winners for September 2021. The winners are Barrett Whitener and Timothy Beck for the high school, and Keira Webb and Bentley Huff for the middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE MONTH

Barrett Whitener - Volleyball

HS Girl

Barrett Whitener has been exceptional in her play this past month. Hitting a higher percentage than anyone in recent school history and getting more blocks than she has ever gotten.  Beyond the play, you can feel her energy when she goes on and off the court. She is a great example to the other ladies with her effort and energy. She put her team first in being willing to change where she starts on the court. She also trusted the coaching staff in this new move. The results have been great and Barrett has been producing great numbers for her team. -coach Matt Heyl

Timothy Beck - Cross Country

HS Boy

Freshman Timothy Beck has demonstrated the epitome of life in the first portion of the cross country season, overcoming obstacles, making mistakes yet not allowing them to keep him down or define him, and persevering with distinct determination and a GREAT attitude that refuses to give up. He has dropped two minutes from his 5k time and is on the verge of being on the varsity team. Timothy is well respected for his gratefulness, persistence, and positive outlook; he continues to demonstrate the essence of a true harrier. -coach Scott Neal

Keira Webb - Tennis

MS Girl

The Indian of the Month for September is 8th grader Keira Webb. Keira has played tennis for the last two years, but she has only played doubles. Despite the lack of experience in singles, Keira has been very successful at the #1 position going 7-1 so far this season. Last week on Tuesday she won easily 8-1 over local rival Habersham County. Then, in a rematch of a 2-8 loss versus Rabun, Keira came from behind 2-5 to take the victory 9-7 and seal the victory for the girls team. Then this past week she won three matches by a total score of 24-4, including an 8-0 shutout in the first round of the Southern Mountain League tournament. Coach Anthony Cox said, "Keira has grown so much over the last few months. She has demonstrated a competitive desire to improve and also stepped up as a leader on this team. We couldn't be more proud of the progress she has shown and look forward to what she will accomplish the rest of this season and beyond." -coach Anthony Cox

Bentley Huff - Cross Country

MS Boy

Bentley Huff has placed 11th of 269, 3rd of 95, and 6th of 124 in large races with plenty of competitive harriers. In Tri State only races, he is undefeated in three races, each time running a mature strategy to enable him to perform at his best. Bentley trains smart, is a GREAT teammate, and competes as if it matters, but not the end of the world. He is athletically mature beyond his years, quickly demonstrating principles and concepts of competitiveness once brought to his attention. He challenges others simply by his work ethic and positive, persistent attitude. -coach Scott Neal
