Precision rifle takes key win over Dawson County

After a long hiatus between matches, the TFS precision rifle team earned a key home win Thursday against Dawson County, a Class 3A school. The Indians edged Dawson 1,110-1,068.

Freshman Kylee Loudermilk continued her impressive season, leading all shooters with a 285. Senior Andrew Erwin was close behind with a 277, as was Chloe Erwin at 276. Ethan Simmons had a 272 and Brooke Hayes a 268 to round out the TFS scores.

Four of the TFS members will be competing in the Junior Olympic 60-Shot Standing State Championship on January 15.  This will include high school and college students and is a qualifier for the National Junior Olympics in Michigan later in 2022. Erwin, Joseph McGahee, Loudermilk, and Jue "Florence" Wang are the four competing for that opportunity.

The TFS precision rifle team is now 4-1 on the season, and have their next regular season match slated for January 27 at home against North Gwinnett.
