8-A Private names Soccer All-Region members

 
 

Region 8-A Private has named its 2022 All-Region selections for soccer, and the Indians and Lady Indians are well-represented.

The boys had a total of eight players earn distinction, led by 1st Team All-Region honorees Sean Lynes, Jr. and Austin Ball. Britton Shaw and Jake Wehrstein were named 2nd Team All-Region, and Clay Kafsky, Kelton Reynolds, Trevor Bramlett, and Jared Mullis were Honorable Mentions.

Lynes, Jr., a senior, notched 23 goals and added three assists. Ball, a sophomore, went for nine goals and 13 assists. Sophomores Shaw and Wehrstein were anchors on the defense that put up a school record four shutouts. Senior Bramlett (two goals, five assists), and freshmen Kafsky (two goals, five assists), Reynolds (four shutouts), and Mullis (one goal) were stellar in 2022.

The Lady Indians featured seven players on the All-Region selections. Earning 1st Team All-Region status were seniors Honora Kahwach and Kat Williams, along with junior Addie Higbie. Those who were tabbed 2nd Team All-Region were sophomores Kyndal Anderson, Jenna Chesser, and junior Maddie Mullis. Freshman Gemma Farris was named Honorable Mention.

Kahwach had 19 goals and 14 assists, while Higbie set the school record with 21 goals and had two assists. Williams finished with six goals and five assists). Chesser (six goals, five assists), Mullis (five goals, four assists), and Farris (seven goals, three assists) were critical pieces on offense. Anderson at keeper was consistent, coming up with a school record six shutouts.
