Region 8-A Private recognizes six Indians

The Indians, fresh off a record year offensively, were recognized by Region 8-A Private with a half dozen All-Region selections.

Three players earned 1st Team All-Region honors: Norman Bastian, Drew Bates, and Malique Charlton. Both Aubrey Higgins and Frankey Moree were named 2nd Team All-Region, and Joel Miller was an Honorable Mention. All but Moree (junior) are seniors.

Bastian, who has signed to play at Olivet Nazarine University, batted a team-high .424 with 4 homeruns and 30 RBI. Bates hit .415 and set single-season school records in homers (5), RBI (34), and runs scored (37). Charlton registered a .354 batting average to go with 4 homeruns and 20 RBI, and led the team along with Miller with 14 stolen bases.

Moree was a .333 hitter with a pair of round-trippers and 20 RBI, adding 24 runs. Higgins, a Berry College signee who leaves TFS as the winningest pitcher in school history, was 3-2 with a 4.86 ERA and 46 strikeouts. Miller had a .358 average, 4 homers, and 25 RBI, as well as 31 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
