Lady Indians JV goes unbeaten in tournament, have now won 11 in a row

The TFS Lady Indians JV team continued to play at a high level when traveling to Monroe Area for a Saturday tournament. Coming in with a 7-match win streak, the girls stretched that to now 11 in a row after picking up four dominating wins in the tournament.

TFS opened play with a 2-0 win over BASA, winning 25-9 and then 25-13. Rockdale was the next victim, and Tallulah Falls rolled to a 25-8, 25-14 straight-set win. The momentum carried into the match against Clarkston, where the Lady Indians claimed a 25-14, 25-8 win. Lastly, a dominating win over Salem closed the day at 25-2, 25-8.

Not only did TFS go 4-0 on the day, but won all eight sets along the way. The win streak is now at 11 for TFS, and the overall mark moves to 18-4 for the season. The Lady Indians will enjoy a lengthy break before playing on September 27 at Rabun County against Rabun and Commerce.

"The girls played very well together and never gave up," says coach Tykia Thompson. "They work so hard at every practice and it definitely showed this weekend. Chesney [Tanksley] and Kaylin [Pickett] had so many great serves and multiple aces which helped us pull ahead and get a victory over our opponents. Our front row hitters got so many hits that the other team had a difficult time returning."
