Pit Vipers finish 2022 season

 
 

Last weekend, the TFS Pit Viper BBQ season came to a close. Having already clinched the state championship, the club used the opportunity to experiment with different recipes and smokers, according to Tom Tilley.

The Pit Vipers placed in the following:

  • 8th in Chicken
  • 3rd in Ribs
  • 15th in Pork
  • 5th Overall 

The Vipers finished the year with two Grand Championships, three Reserve Grand Championships, the World Jr. BBQ League Championship (2-time winner), 6th-place at the KCBS World Invitational (Kansas City BBQ Society), 23rd-place chicken at the Memphis in May World BBQ Championships (500 teams), Georgia BBQ Championship "Team of the Year" (3-time winner), and GBC 1st-place winner in Chicken, Ribs, and Pork. Furthermore, the team was #1 in Ribs "Team of the Year" at KCBS, and #14 in Chicken "Team of the Year".

"These kids accomplished this feat in only eight events and we don't have any seniors," adds Tilley.
