MS basketball sweeps past Rabun Gap in regular season finale
The Tallulah Falls MS basketball teams ended the regular season on a high note, with both teams taking wins over rivals Rabun Gap at home on Saturday.
Prior to the games, Tallulah Falls recognized its eight-graders, which included: Narissa Dawson, Gracey Eller, and LB Kafsky for the girls; Ryan Anderson, Jackson Cantrell, Ryder Cantrell, Derrick Lane, Brian Neely, and William NeSmith for the boys; Callee Elrod and Haylen McGugan for the MS cheer team.
The Lady Indians won 31-11. Handley James scored 7 points, while Linda White added 6, Nora Mitchell 5, Payton McEntire 4, and Kafsky 3. Dawson, Mia Kerr, and Gracey Eller all had 2 points apiece.
The Lady Indians close the regular season with a 6-6 mark overall.
The Indians also racked up a big win, 55-17. Despite going with a different lineup, TFS saw its same familiar results.
TFS led by 15 after one, 21-6. That lead became a 35-11 halftime advantage, as the Indians cruised to the finish.
Asa Popham had a game-high 19 points, making a third straight game he has led the Indians' offense. Lane had 11 points, Neely 10, and Lincoln Hicks and NeSmith had 4 points apiece.
The boys are now 8-3 overall, and earned the second-seed going into the Tri-State Tournament.
