Indians drop low-scoring duel with Athens Christian

#10-ranked Tallulah Falls saw a slim fourth quarter lead swing in favor of visiting Athens Christian on Tuesday evening in a 53-48 region loss.

It was a low-scoring first half, as the Indians raced out to an 11-8 advantage on 3-pointers by Vlad Popescu, Diego Crotta, and Anfernee Hanna. After the visitors knotted the game at 13, Crotta's second triple gave TFS a 16-13 lead to go into the second.

The second quarter was slow going for both sides, though Tallulah Falls took an 8-point lead a couple of times. The Eagles bounced back to cut the deficit down to a 25-23 halftime lead for the Indians.

Both teams scored 11 in the third, as Hanna scored the first 6 points for TFS in the second half. Popescu got a runner to go at the buzzer to send the Indians to the fourth with a 36-34 lead.

Athens Christian immediately responded with a three to open the final quarter, and never squandered the lead. The Eagles outscored Tallulah 19-12 the rest of the game.
