Playoff Preview: Girls Soccer

With a remarkable regular season in the books, the #8-ranked Lady Indians were able to secure a third consecutive state qualifying campaign. At 11-3 on the season and a third straight Region Runner-Up placement, TFS is enjoying its most successful season in program history under coach Travis Mullis.

The 11 wins matches last season's total, which is tied for the program high mark. Addie Higbie has stolen the show with an unforgettable senior season that includes a current count of 40 goals and 5 assists. On April 6, the regular season finale, she scored a record 7 goals while Tessa Foor added a record 4 assists. Higbie owns the single-match, single-season, and career goals record (68). TFS was ranked as high as #6 in the state polls this season, representing the first season in school history of appearing in the polls.

The Lady Indians are riding a 4-match win streak heading into their home playoff match, and have 75 goals scored (school record), which comes out to 5.4 per game. Defensively, the girls allow 2.1 per contest and have 6 clean sheet wins (ties the school single-season record). Kyndal Anderson, who has 12 career shutouts, has been reliable and consistent, while the defensive backline as a unit have been solid.

Foor (11 assists, 3 G) is a great distributor, as are Maddie Mullis (5 G) and Bailey Crumley (7 assists each). Maddie LeBlanc (4 A, 1 G), Gemma Farris (12 G, 4 A), and several others like Josie Chesser have been crucial playmakers.

At home, TFS is 6-2, which bodes well with incoming Trion (9-3-1). The Lady Bulldogs are a great defensive team, allowing just 1.3 goals per game and have won 6 straight games. The defense for Trion dictates the offense, which scores just 2.5 goals per game. Trion is 5-3-1 away from its home field. Tallulah Falls is seeking its first-ever Sweet 16 with a win over Trion.
