MS girls win Area Championship, boys fourth

The TFS MS golf teams wrapped up a successful 2023 Season by hosting the Inaugural Tallulah Falls Middle School Golf Championship held at Apple Mountain Golf Club.

The Lady Indians completed an undefeated season by winning the team title by 12 strokes. Bella Hulsey and Maeve Hatcher tied for low medalist honors by carding a 44 each. Hulsey then edged out Hatcher in a playoff by one stroke. The Lady Indians totaled a 148 as Emma Whisnant (60), Sadie Henslee (61), Handley James (63), and Catherine Harris (66) also competed.

The Indians was led by Owen Earp with a 48 and a team total of 161, good for 4th place. Josh Newell had his best score of the year with a very respectable 52. Maddox English shot a 61, Micah Smith a 68, and Keller VanOrman a 69.

"I can't say enough great things about all of these kids and the effort and willingness to learn this very difficult sport," adds coach Jadie Hatcher. "The TFS golf program has an extremely bright future and I'm proud to have a part in it."
