Moree sets all-time hits record in senior night win over West Oak

On his senior night, Frankey Moree had 2 hits to become the all-time leader in TFS history in a 12-2 home win over West Oak on Monday night. Moree and fellow senior Davante Brown combined for 3 hits and 3 RBI, as the Indians overcame an early 2-run deficit to score 12 unanswered.

After West Oak blasted a 2-run homer to left in the first inning, starter Andrew Skvarka settled in and would not allow another run the rest of the way. TFS responded with 2 runs in the second to knot the game up. One scored on a double play groundout and the other on a wild pitch. In the second, the Indians scratched across 3 more, with Moree tying the all-time hits record with an RBI double. Caden Walker doubled moments later to bring home Moree, and Walker scored on an error to make it a 5-2 lead.

Tallulah Falls continued to take advantage of several walks and hit by pitches, and put across a pair of third inning runs by way of an error and a bases loaded walk. It made the game 7-2 in favor of the Indians.

The fourth inning provided the final 5 runs to secure the 10-run lead and trigger the run-rule. Brown doubled home Pollock, who had singled moments before. Miscues brought home the next couple to advance the lead up to 9-2. Then stepped up Moree, who singled on the first pitch to bring home Ashton Roache and set the hits record with 82, passing former TFS great Devon Mayfield, a 2010 graduate.

BJ Carver then singled in the final 2 runs to stretch the lead to 12-2. Skvarka ended up going 4.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 6 against 2 hits and 4 walks. He earned the win, and Moree closed out the game with the final out. Carver, Walker, and Moree all had 2 RBI apiece.

The Indians even their overall record at 12-12, and return to action Wednesday with a home double-header against Athens Christian.
