Athens Christian powers past TFS in double-header sweep

The Indians dropped both ends of a Wednesday home double-header against region foes Athens Christian. The Eagles took game one 10-2 and mad the nightcap quick with a 15-0 win.

The Indians were down 6-0 in the first game before scratching across a run in the sixth. That came on a Frankey Moree solo homer to center. Athens Christian added 4 runs in the final frame, and the last run came on a misplayed fly ball hit by Moree that brought home a run. Moree, Tallulah Falls' single-season and all-time homerun leader, collected his seventh round-tripper of the season. Cole Bonitatibus took the loss while giving up 6 runs (only one earned) in 4.2 innings while striking out 7.

In the second game, which was also the final region game of the season for the Indians, Athens Christian scored one in the first and 13 in the second. The Eagles added another in the third to trigger the run-rule. TFS had just 3 hits, a pair coming from Moree. He had a 4-hit day between both games with a homerun, double, and an RBI. Chase Pollock took the loss despite giving up 9 runs (none earned), as errors plagued TFS.

The Indians are now 12-14 overall and 8-7 in region play, and have locked in the 3-seed from Region 8-A DI. TFS will take on Pickens Friday on the road to close out the regular season.
