MS Indians claim Tri-State Championship; Lady Indians Runner-Up

 
 

The MS track teams went to Rabun Gap on Monday afternoon and competed in the season-ending Tri-State Championship. The Indians claimed the Championship title while breaking a pair of relay records, and the Lady Indians finished Runner-Up.

For the Indians, it marks the second straight title and 11th doing back to 2011. The Lady Indians had won the previous two titles before coming in second this time around. TFS had a few of the boys relay groups set new records, coming in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x800 events. Wyatt Fountain also broke a record going back to 2006 in the 200 meter run with a 25.40.

BOYS

  • Brian Neely (1st in Long Jump, 1st in Triple Jump)
  • Ryan Anderson (1st in 400)
  • Wyatt Fountain (1st in 100, 1st in 200)
  • Teagan Penland (1st in 800, 2nd in 1600)

  • 4x200 Relay (1st)
  • Cody Loonubon (2nd in 100, 2nd in 200)
  • Brody Irvin (2nd in 400, 2nd in Long Jump)
  • William NeSmith (2nd in 100 MH)
  • Ethan Williams (2nd in Shot Put)
  • 4x800 Relay (2nd)

GIRLS

  • Ca'Rin Swinton (1st in 100, 1st in 100 MH, 1st in 200, 2nd in High Jump)
  • LB Kafsky (1st in High Jump, 1st in Triple Jump, 2nd in 100 MH)
  • 4x400 Relay (1st)
  • Linda White (2nd in 800, 2nd in Long Jump)
  • Gabby Oliver (2nd in 400)
  • Megan Prince (2nd in Triple Jump)
  • 4x200 Relay (2nd)
