Ball scores five goals to lead TFS in opening win
The Indians opened the season at home with a 9-1 win against Athens Academy. Austin Ball tied a school record with five goals, tying his own mark that he shares with one other.
Ball scored the first goal of the season with 37:49 left in the half, which came following a nice goal kick by Kelton Reynolds. Clay Kafsky scored less than a minute later (37:25) on a nice touch from Ball.
Athens Academy used a PK to get within 2-1, but Ball scored two more goals before the break as TFS led 4-1.
The Indians kept pressure with several shots on goal. Ball scored twice early in the second half for his fourth and fifth goals of the contest.
Jackson Cording, who had tons of great shots on target, finally got two into the back of the net on an assist by Kafsky and one from Ball, stretching the lead up to 8-1 at the 21:26 mark.
Landon Hall tapped one in from in front of the goal to cap the scoring for Tallulah Falls. Ball finished with five goals and two assists. Cording had two goals, and Kafsky had a goal and two assists.
The Indians are 1-0 on the season.
