TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of March 4-9. This week's selections are Azaria Junaid and Glad Puscasu for high school, and Elizabeth Hilson and Avery Chatman for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Azaria Junaid - Tennis

Sophomore Azaria Junaid has entered the season with a new determination to improve and come through for her teammates. Azaria is listening to coaching and really making an effort to improve her game. She was undefeated last week, as she has been all season long. She has a great attitude and is a friend to all on the team. -coach Anthony Cox

Glad Puscasu - Tennis

Glad Puscasu had a rough match on Monday playing doubles. On Thursday versus local rival Rabun County, Glad played singles and was able to come from behind down a set to win in a tiebreak and clinch the victory for his team. He showed a lot of determination and resolve, and very importantly he kept his composure all match, especially with everyone watching and the pressure on. Glad has grown a lot as a tennis player in part due to his work ethic and his hunger for information about the game. -coach Anthony Cox

Elizabeth Hilson - Soccer

6th-grader Elizabeth Hilson is the starting goalie for the MS soccer team. She has already made an amazing contribution to the team and continues to improve weekly with her good work ethic. She is making some brave and difficult saves and finding her voice along with support from our defensive line in front of her. Elizabeth is a coachable athlete and is admired by her coaches and teammates for taking on the important goalkeeping role. Its amazing that a 6th grader is willing to step into this role and I look forward to watching her progression this season into the next two years. -coach Laura Higbie

Avery Chatman - Soccer

8th-grader Avery Chatman is the nominee for Indian of the Week for the Tallulah Falls Middle School boys soccer team. A multi-sport athlete, Avery brings significant talent, work ethic, and leadership to our team. Having observed his play during the fall and in seasons prior with his club team, I knew Avery would bring significant strength to our side. In the first match against Lakeview Academy, Avery provided excellent defending while starting at right center back. Later he was moved to the midfield where he helped the team by scoring a goal. I'm very glad to nominate Avery Chatman as this week's Indian of the Week. -coach Travis Mullis
