Mitchell scores twice as TFS wins 2-1

The MS Lady Indians earned a hard-fought 2-1 win on Thursday at Highlands. 

The back-and-forth match was tied 1-1 at the break in a game that featured everyone contributing.

Nora Mitchell scored first off a corner by Betsey Orr. It remained tied until the 27th minute of the second half, when Mitchell knocked in a PK for the win. The defense held strong from there.

"I’m super proud of the entire team and the way they persevered after a tough loss the night before," says coach Laura Higbie. "We played as a team today, anchored in the back by Kristine Malik, who played a full 60 minutes in goal. Our defense, offense, and midfield looked really cohesive today. A very good ending to a full week of soccer."

The Lady Indians improve to 3-5 overall.
