MS Indians end regular season with dominant win

In the final regular season match for the MS Indians, TFS earned a dominant 7-0 win Monday against Lumpkin County at home.

The boys took a 3-0 lead in the first half on two goals by Alex Jelly and one by Avery Chatman. Liam Burke assisted Chatman's goal following a corner kick, and JT Head and Thatcher Tatum recorded assists on Jelly's goals.

The Indians didn't let up. Sebastian York assisted Head and Ian Borchers' ball found Head for yet another goal. Head secured a hat trick with his next goal, assisted by York. Jackson Crumley capped the scoring off an assist from Jelly.

"Congratulations to the 8th-graders who have made a great season for our soccer program," says coach Travis Mullis. "Lucas, Jelly, Max, Carter, Jackson, Luke, Thatcher, Avery, Austin, Liam - great group of boys who love the game. These boys started the match and then finished it well, receiving a round of applause from their families and friends. It was also good to see the younger talent come on and play significant minutes. Their group accounted for three goals, so the future is good."

It marked the second shutout for Lucas Woodland. TFS ends the regular season at 5-1-2 overall, and will compete in the GIAA Tournament on Saturday at Stratford Academy in Macon.
