MS girls win MS Championship at Valhalla, boys finish 4th

Tallulah Falls hosted the 2024 MS Championships at Valhalla Resort in Helen on Wednesday. In total, 81 golfers took part — 46 boys and 35 girls — in the second annual event. Despite the rainy conditions, the Lady Indians defended their title with a win by 17 strokes, while the Indians finished 4th.

The girls carded a team score of 139, ahead of Rabun County's 156. Hart County was 3rd at 168. Maeve Hatcher was the low medalist, shooting a 43 to edge out former TFS teammate and current Rabun standout Bella Hulsey by a single stroke. Both Handley James and Sadie Henslee came in with 48s, tying for 3rd place.

The Indians shot a 147 as a team, finishing behind champions Habersham (130), Loganville Christian (140), and White County (145) but ahead of several others, as there were 11 teams competing on the boys' side. Owen Earp led the Indians by placing 4th individually with a 44. Maddox English had a 49, and was inches away from a hole-in-one. Joshua Newell (54) had the 3rd-best score for TFS.
