State Playoff Preview: Boys Soccer

Tallulah Falls enters the 2024 postseason as the #2-ranked team in the state, carrying an unbelievable 14-1 overall record into the bracket. That includes a second consecutive region title. Since the lone 2-0 loss at Habersham Central, the Indians have gone 10-0 with a goal differential of 51-5. Total domination.

Now in its fourth straight playoffs, TFS hopes to make history by besting last season's Sweet 16 run. But it starts with the first one, which comes Wednesday at home against 4-seed Prince Avenue Christian. The Wolverines are a meager 2-11 on the season, and have been outscored 55-10 thus far.

Meanwhile, the Indians have had another record-setting year by senior Austin Ball, who has 32 goals, just seven shy of his single-season record set last year. He owns the career record of 84. Junior Jackson Cording has been a reliable option on offense with 15 goals as well. Juniors Landon Hall (8 G, 10 A) and Clay Kafsky (6 G, 10 A), and freshman Kale Borchers (6 G, 8 A) have been key players on that side of the ball as well. Senior Jake Wehrstein is one of several lock-down defenders, and he specifically has contributed five goals and three assists. Junior keeper Kelton Reynolds, the single-season and all-time leader in shutouts and saves, has been great between the pipes.
